The Hess Motorsport Kawasaki KRX 1000 Steering Rack
We put a lot of thought into this rack, and wanted to make it very maintenance friendly and extremely durable. Our rack is machined in house out of 6061 Billet Aluminum. We have designed this rack to be completely rebuildable. To reduce steering effort we have the pinion gear running on not one but two ball bearings and are using a very strong composite material that is embedded with Moly for our rack bushings. What does Moly do? Well, the Moly particles act as a dry lubricant to enhance the load bearing and wear capabilities while offering improved strength and rigidity while maintaining better fit and clearances. It also has less tendency to seize as bearings. We also tightened the tolerances and added a much larger support area to the rack gear to aid in strength and to prevent it from being damaged which is why we do not use a sprung tensioner on our rack. We made the whole thing greaseable. We utilize a HUGE 1.2" Diameter rack gear made of 17-4 Heat Treated Stainless Steel (See the Comparison Pictures). This provides excellent strength and corrosion resistance to the gear. Our Rack gear features the same M16 x1.5mm threads as the OEM rack so you can still use your upgraded tie rods if you already have them. Steering Mid Shaft Included.

Returns Policy
All products purchased through Hess Motorsports are subject to a 30 day return period from the ship date. Returned items must be in new and never mounted condition. Exchanges can be made on a product(s) that are defective from manufacturing and/or workmanship that hinder it’s intended use. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. All returns and/or exchanges must be approved prior to shipment and are subject to inspection upon arrival, before a refund and/or exchange can be issued.
